Tomato sauce for pizza

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 ml oil (olive oil)
  • 1 kg onion(s), chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp oregano
  • 100 g tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Roughly crush tomatoes, add them to the pan with their juices, bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Season generously with oregano, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and pepper. We always keep this sauce in our freezer.
