Tomato sauce with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 2 cans of tomatoes, in pieces, 400 g
  • 125 ml red wine, dry
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cloves
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • some salt
  • some pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Salsa makes me hot

Peel the onion and garlic clove. Finely dice or weigh the onion. Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the onions until translucent, and then add the garlic. Add the minced meat to the pan and fry, stirring, until lightly browned. Deglaze with the red wine, add the chopped tomatoes, and season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Add the spices (except the parsley), stir, cover, and reduce the heat considerably. The sauce can now simmer until it reaches the desired consistency or until ready to use. Stir occasionally and add a little water if necessary. About 10 minutes before the end of cooking, add the chopped parsley. This sauce can be served with pasta or used as an ingredient in other dishes, such as pastitsio.
