100 g of raw trout has 105 kcal, which is significantly less compared to wild salmon (142 kcal) or eel (188 kcal), for example. So it’s no wonder that trout are very popular as diet fish that don’t hit the hips too much even when fried, smoked, or blue. The individual values ​​can be found in the following list:

  • Trout blue: A blue-cooked trout does not have as many calories because it is only briefly poached. Here you get 118 kcal per 100 g.
  • Smoked: Smoked trout is just a little “heavier” than raw because the fish don’t have a high-fat content like wild salmon. Here you have to reckon with 120 kcal per 100 g.
  • Fried: With fried trout, you have to reckon with a little more calories. The reason for this is the use of cooking oil. Due to this, the calorie content varies between 170 and 185 kcal per 100 g.
  • Grilled: A grilled trout is in the middle with 135 to 140 kcal. It also depends on whether you also use cooking oil.
  • Also, consider the calories of the other ingredients and side dishes you cook with the trout. These can once again add a good amount of calories.
