Turkish Palmiers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 8 tbsp sesame paste (tahini), from the Turkish grocery store
  • 1 chili pepper(s), red, pitted and finely chopped
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • 2 packs of puff pastry, frozen, thawed (total 560 g)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 15 minutes

savory pastry, makes about 36 pieces

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Mix the tahini, chili, and paprika powder and spread evenly over both sheets of dough, all the way to the edges. Starting at the narrow sides, roll tightly from each end to the middle. Then fold it over like a book. Repeat this process with the second sheet of dough. Let it set in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes. Cut the dough rolls into 12 mm thick “twin rolls” and place them on baking sheets lined with baking paper. Leave enough space between them, as they will spread out! Bake for about 10 minutes: 8 minutes on the first side, then turn and bake for about 2 more minutes, until golden brown.
