Use and clean the Teflon pan correctly
Teflon pans have a thin coating that prevents burning and sticking. If used incorrectly, however, the Teflon can quickly be destroyed.
- Teflon pans should not be overheated. Do not turn the stove to the highest level, but fry on medium or low heat. Stainless steel or cast iron pans are better suited for searing.
- Do not use metal tools to turn vegetables or meat in the pan. You will scratch the coating. Instead, it’s best to use wooden or plastic spatulas.
- A Teflon pan does not belong in the dishwasher. Always rinse by hand to protect the coating.
- Always add oil to the pan before turning on the stovetop. The oil settles into the pores and protects the coating.
