Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 200 g margarine, vegan
  • 8 tbsp applesauce
  • 600 g wheat flour type 405
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 2 packs of vanilla pudding powder, vegan
  • 200 ml water, still
  • some soy cream (soy cream cuisine)
  • 250 g powdered sugar, sifted
  • some chocolate drops, dark chocolate, vegan
  • some food coloring, orange and yellow, vegan
  • n. B. Fondant, white

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Makes about 15 cute Easter chicks

Mix the sugar, vanilla sugar, margarine, and applesauce together until creamy. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, and pudding powder) and gradually stir into the cream along with the water until a smooth batter is formed. Using a tablespoon, drop the tough dough in portions onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper (approx. 95 g per American roll) and, using a knife moistened with water, shape it into a smooth, round mound (diameter approx. 7.5 cm), with the edges flush with the baking paper. Caution: Leave some space between the individual American rolls; they will rise slightly during baking! Brush the American rolls with soy cream and bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C for approx. 20 minutes, until lightly browned. Mix the sifted icing sugar with a little water to tint it light yellow. Remove the cooled American rolls from the baking sheet and spread the yellow icing evenly over the underside. Now form eyes out of the fondant and chocolate chips. Finally, color the remaining icing orange and decorate the chicks with a beak and 2 legs.
