Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 125 g cheese substitute (Camembert substitute)
- 62 ½ g cream cheese substitute
- 31 ¼ g butter substitute
- ½ onion(s)
- 1 tsp, heaped paprika powder, sweet
- ½ bunch chives
- e.g. salt and pepper
- n. B. Caraway
- Paprika powder for sprinkling
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Cut 2-3 rings off the onion half and set aside, and finely chop the rest. Cut the chives into small rings and set aside 1 tablespoon of these as well. Place the cream cheese, butter, and paprika powder in a deep plate and mix well with a fork. Place the vegan Camembert on top of the mixture and tear it apart with a fork. Add the finely chopped onion and the remaining chives and fold everything in with a fork until a creamy mixture forms after about 3-5 minutes, with small pieces of Camembert still visible. Everything is mixed when it has formed into a sticky ball. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and additional paprika powder; too much paprika powder will make the Obatzda taste bitter. Fans can mix caraway seeds directly into the mixture; if you’re having guests, we recommend placing a separate small bowl of caraway seeds on the table. Garnish with onion rings, chives, and paprika powder. Tip: The ratio of Camembert, cream cheese, and butter can of course be varied. One Camembert, half the weight of which is cream cheese and half the weight of which is butter, guarantees the perfect result. The specified amount will feed three people comfortably. Approximately 300 kcal per serving.
