Vegan chickpea patties

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 220 g chickpeas, already cooked
  • 75 ml water, hot
  • 1 small onion(s), red
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp parsley, fresh
  • 30 g oat flakes, fine
  • 60 g wholemeal spelt flour or wholemeal wheat flour
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 pinches of pepper
  • some oil for frying the patties

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Roughly mash the cooked chickpeas and pour in the hot water. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic, and add them to the chickpeas along with the other ingredients. Mix everything well and let it sit for 5 minutes. Form the batter into small patties and fry them in oil until crispy. These patties are best enjoyed with a delicious vegan dip, such as vegan chimichurri mayonnaise or vegan curry sauce. Instructions for these can be found in my recipes.
