Vegetable onions with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 onions
  • 400 g minced meat
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp oat flakes
  • 2 tbsp chives
  • salt and pepper
  • some thyme
  • 100 g butter for butter flakes
  • 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Peel the onions and trim off the top third. Blanch in boiling salted water for 5 minutes, remove, and refresh briefly. Remove the inside of the onion and chop finely. Mix the minced meat with the chopped onions, egg, chives, and oatmeal. Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Stuff the onions with the mixture. Place in a buttered ovenproof dish, sprinkle with butter flakes and breadcrumbs on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 45 minutes. Cover after 30 minutes if necessary.
