Macaroni casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pasta (macaroni), short
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 60 g fat for frying
  • 500 g potatoes, pre-cooked, cut into thin slices
  • 400 g onion(s), cut into rings
  • 250 g mozzarella, diced
  • 150 g cream
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. bread(s), fresh
  • butter
  • Water (salt water)
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cook the pasta in salted water with olive oil. Sauté the onions in the fat. Layer the potatoes, onions, macaroni, and cheese in a greased casserole dish. Season each layer with salt and pepper. Top with a layer of cheese. Drizzle with cream and cooking fat and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 25 minutes. Then brown the cheese topping under the hot broiler. Serve the casserole as a main course with bread and butter or as a side dish to hearty meat dishes.
