Vegetarian chestnut patties

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g chestnuts, peeled and pre-cooked
  • 3 tbsp, stripped Flour, whole grain
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tsp, levelled pepper, ground
  • Salt
  • some water
  • 1 tbsp chives, very finely chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finely chop/mince the chestnuts and mix with the egg, whole-wheat flour, and finely chopped chives. Add a little water depending on the consistency and season with salt and pepper. Let this mixture stand for about 10 minutes, then use a spoon to form patties and fry them in a pan with hot olive oil. This quantity makes enough for 4 patties. Caution! The patties are extremely filling, so pasta, potatoes, or rice are not suitable as a side dish. The chestnut patties go best with salad, especially cucumber salad dressed with yogurt or sour cream, or even tzatziki. I like them best on their own with salad, but they’re also not bad with tomato sauce.
