Vegetarian Crackling Lard

The perfect vegetarian crackling lard recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Unhydrogenated vegetable fat
  • 2 piece Fresh onion
  • 1 piece Finely diced potatoes
  • 1 tsp Savory spice
  • 0,5 tsp Thyme spice
  1. Cut the raw potato into very small cubes, dice the onion a little larger.
  2. Heat the fat in a cheese roll at medium temperature (I use palm fat), then add the potato cubes. Attention: foams up for a short time!
  3. When these start !!! To show color, add the onions. Leave the whole thing on the hob until the potatoes have a strong brown color (they are still darkening).
  4. Finally season with savory and thyme (if available, fresh spices can also be used). Carefully pour into a bowl and let cool down.
