Apple Crackling Lard with Onions

The perfect apple crackling lard with onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 350 g Pork flavors
  • 250 g Lard
  • 1 Boskoop
  • 1 medium sized Onion
  • 1 tsp deleted Dried thyme
  • 50 ml Water
  • Salt
  1. Either buy the pork flavors already diced or roll them yourself. Peel the onion, cut in half and cut into fine strips. Peel and core the boskop and cut into cubes.
  2. Put the water together with the pork flavors in a saucepan and set on the highest level. When the water has boiled off completely and the fat has been drained from the flames – you can tell that the liquid is clear – add the lard and the apples and onions and simmer on medium heat until the greaves that emerge from the flames , and the bulbs are nice and brown (not too dark).
  3. Then remove the saucepan from the heat and add the thyme and a little salt and then pour into glasses and let it set.
