Vitamin Water – The Very Healthy Summer Drink

Vitamin water is made quickly. Because water does not always taste pure. However, the vitamin water must be self-made, since commercially available vitamin water contains far too many artificial additives. Homemade vitamin water only provides healthy things: water and an extra portion of vitamins, antioxidants, and phytochemicals. Vitamin water is also available in thousands of variations. Which will be YOUR favorite vitamin water?

Vitamin water: artificial or natural?

You can buy vitamin water. It consists of table water, artificial vitamins, colorings, flavorings, and preservatives. So it doesn’t sound very tempting – and certainly not healthy.

But you can also make vitamin water yourself – it’s really easy!

Homemade vitamin water: the instructions

  • You take a glass carafe, a sealable jug, or even a BPA-free drinking bottle for the on-the-go.
  • Then choose a delicious fruit and herb mixture, wash the fruit and herbs, cut them into manageable pieces, and place them in the container of your choice.
  • Finally, pour the best water over the fruit and herb mixture. Take good spring water or even filtered water.
  • If you want to take your vitamin water with you to work, university, or school in the morning, it is best to prepare it the evening before so that the vitamin water can “infuse” – similar to tea. In summer you should leave the vitamin water in the fridge.
  • The water-soluble vitamins, antioxidants, and phytochemicals now go into the water.
  • The water is also wonderfully naturally flavored by fruits and herbs.
  • Depending on the desired intensity of the taste, the vitamin water can also steep for a shorter time (but at least two hours). Try it out.

Vitamin water on ice

Just before you enjoy the vitamin water, you can add ice cubes.

Once you’ve had a glass of your vitamin water, fill up the bottle, jug, or whatever vessel you’ve chosen with fresh water. Your vitamin water will never run out this way.

Vitamin water: Variant with fruit and herb puree

Another variation would be to puree the fruit and herbs, strain the pulp, dilute the juice with water, and sip through a straw.

You’ll see: with delicious, healthy vitamin water, you’ll quickly get used to sugary soft drinks, iced tea, or energy drinks.

Fruit and herb mixtures for your vitamin water

Of course, you can mix fruits, herbs, spices, and vegetables according to your taste and use them to prepare your vitamin water. If you miss sweetness, add some fresh stevia leaves or a few drops of liquid stevia or even some xylitol or a bit of honey.

Here are some suggestions for delicious fruit and herb mixes for your vitamin water:

  • cucumber and fresh mint
