Tips and home remedies for flatulence

Of course, you cannot and should not strictly abstain from all dishes and foods that could have a bloating effect. There are a few tricks and home remedies you can use to help you enjoy foods that are potentially flatulent.

  • The flatulence of legumes , for example, can be reduced if you let them soak in a pot of water overnight before cooking and then drain the soaking water. Rinse the contents of the pot again with clear water before cooking the legumes.
  • Rely on bitter substances . Because bitter substances stimulate digestion. Therefore, take bitter substances either 5 to 10 minutes before the meal or at the latest afterwards. We recommend Swedish bitters or another bitter extract.
  • Digestive, stomach-soothing teas with fennel and caraway also reduce the feeling of flatulence. Ginger tea also helps if you’ve eaten foods that cause gas.
