Wheatgrass Juice: How The Green Drink Can Help With Colon Cancer

Wheatgrass juice helps with colon cancer

Wheatgrass grows very quickly. It is ready to harvest after only two weeks and can be pressed into juice. Since the medical potential of wheatgrass juice was recognized in some studies, the green drink has become more and more popular. According to a 2015 review by Indian researchers, wheatgrass juice can provide wonderful benefits for all sorts of ailments such as rheumatism, diabetes, intestinal diseases, and cancer.

Colon cancer is the second most common form of cancer in Germany. In addition to old age and the occurrence of colon polyps, malnutrition is one of the most important risk factors.

If colon cancer has been diagnosed, various treatment options such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy can be considered, depending on the location and stage of the tumor. Researchers from the University of Haifa in Israel showed in 2019 that the daily use of wheatgrass juice in colon cancer showed great promise.

Just 60 milliliters of wheatgrass juice is enough

The study involved 99 stages II and III colorectal cancer patients. There are stages 0 to IV, with stage 0 describing an early stage of cancer, while stage IV already has distant metastases.

Stages II and III denote very advanced diseases with partially affected lymph nodes. The colon cancer has already broken through the intestinal wall and has grown into the surrounding tissue and organs. Only metastases in other parts of the body do not exist yet.

After the test persons had been operated on, so-called adjuvant chemotherapy was carried out in order to kill any micro-metastases that might have been present. The subjects were divided into 2 groups.

While 50 patients were only treated with chemotherapy, 49 patients also received 60 milliliters of wheatgrass juice per day. The subjects’ blood was analyzed before, during, and after the treatment. The follow-up time was 15 months.

This is how wheatgrass juice works for colon cancer

The scientists observed that in the patients in the wheatgrass juice group:

  • rare severe diarrhea occurred
  • fewer vascular injuries occurred during and after treatment
  • the risk of blood clots was lower during or at the end of therapy
  • the inflammation values ​​turned out better
  • the mortality rate was lower: 3 subjects died in the wheatgrass group and 8 in
  • the control group

What substance makes wheatgrass juice so healthy?

Indian researchers have investigated which ingredients are responsible for the medicinal effects of wheatgrass juice. First of all, the particularly high content of chlorophyll is striking. Wheatgrass juice consists of 70 percent of these pigments and is also referred to as green blood since chlorophyll is very similar to the red blood pigment hemoglobin and has a blood-cleansing and detoxifying effect.

In addition, wheatgrass juice is rich in flavonoids such as apigenin and quercetin, which act against free radicals. The high content of vitamins C, E, and B, and its high iron and protein values ​​naturally also contribute to the healing potential of wheatgrass juice.

Drink wheatgrass juice for colon cancer! And what else?

According to a study published in 2018, the extremely strong antioxidant effect of wheatgrass juice should be emphasized, which reduces the risk of diseases such as colon cancer or other forms of cancer and can support corresponding therapies.

It is not always possible to supply yourself with fresh wheatgrass juice every day. Wheatgrass juice powder can be a practical alternative here. Look for organic and raw food quality. The latter guarantees the highest possible levels of vital substances.
