Wholemeal spelt bread with syrup

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 180 ml water
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp syrup (e.g. sugar beet or light syrup)
  • 250 g wholemeal spelt flour
  • 50 g mixed seeds (e.g. pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pine nuts, sesame, linseed)
  • 4 g dry yeast
  • ½ tbsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 10 minutes

Recipe for the bread maker

Add the water, butter, and syrup to the bread maker. Combine the flour, seed mix, dried yeast, and salt and add them to the bread maker. If desired, you can add additional ingredients, such as sun-dried tomatoes, spices, or chilies. Then close the bread maker and start the whole wheat program. The whole wheat program on my bread maker takes four hours; I always choose a dark brown setting. This recipe yields one small loaf, about 15 cm thick.
