Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 250 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • ½ tsp clove powder
  • 3 tbsp orange blossom water
  • 50 g candied fruits
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 0.2 g saffron threads
  • 100 g honey
  • 75 g sesame seeds
  • 30 g pistachios, chopped
  • 3 tbsp apricot jam

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 day 6 hours; Total time approx. 1 day 6 hours 30 minutes

Knead the flour with 200g butter, sugar, hazelnuts, orange juice, egg, and spices. Chill the dough for 1 hour. Preheat an electric oven to 175°C. Roll out the dough to ½ cm thick and cut out half-moon shapes. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Finely chop the candied fruit. Heat the milk and dissolve the saffron in it. Add the remaining butter, honey, sesame seeds, chopped fruit, and pistachios, heat through, and spread over the half-moon shapes. Bake for about 15 minutes. Heat the jam and spread it over the cookies. Decorate with dried fruit, cut into miniature shapes, if desired.
