Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes, 400 g each
  • 1 tsp, heaped oregano
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • 1 handful of fresh basil
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for frying

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

the ideal base for homemade pizza

Finely dice the onion and fry in olive oil over medium heat until translucent. Then add the garlic and fry for 1 minute. Add the chopped tomatoes and oregano and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce reaches the desired consistency. Remove the pan from the heat and season the sauce with balsamic vinegar, salt, sugar, and pepper. For easier use, the sauce can be pureed with a hand blender. Then finely chop the basil and stir it into the sauce. Important: Be generous with the seasoning. The sauce should be very intense; it is often the only source of seasoning in a pizza, unless additional seasoning is added when topping.
