Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 500 g apples
  • 50 g raisins
  • 40 g sugar
  • 20 g butter
  • 375 g flour
  • 1 packet of yeast (dry yeast)
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 200 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 50 g butter, melted and cooled
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 10 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 40 minutes

Peel, quarter, core, and cut the apples into small pieces. Stir in the raisins, sugar, and butter, then sauté gently and allow to cool. Sift the flour into a mixing bowl and thoroughly mix with the dried yeast. Add the sugar, salt, egg, milk, and butter. Using a dough hook, knead the ingredients into a dough for 5 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place. Dust the dough with flour, remove from the bowl, knead briefly, roll out thinly, and cut out round discs (12 cm in diameter). Cover half of the disc with the filling, brush the edges with milk, fold the other half over the dough, press the edges firmly together, brush with milk, and sprinkle with peeled, sliced ​​almonds, if desired. Place on a baking tray and let rise again. Bake at approx. 190°C (fan oven) for 15 minutes. Cover with the icing immediately after baking.
