Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 185 g butter
- 165 g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 75 g flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 190 g hazelnuts, ground
- 200 g apples, peeled and coarsely grated
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Cream the butter, sugar, and eggs in a bowl until fluffy, then fold in the ground nuts, cocoa powder, flour with baking powder, and grated apples. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and place in an oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Bake for approximately 60 minutes (test with a wooden skewer to check if the cake is done). After baking, leave the cake in the pan for another 5-10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack. This apple cake is wonderfully moist and tastes especially great with a dollop of whipped cream!
