deliciously crumbly chocolate cookies, makes about 60 pieces

Melt the chocolate coating. This can be done either in a hot water bath or in the microwave (see appliance instructions). Cream the butter/margarine, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until fluffy. Stir in the egg and the still-liquid, but cooled, chocolate coating. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder and mix briefly but thoroughly with the milk. Let the dough rest in a cool place for about 30 minutes. Then, using a teaspoon, scoop out portions and roll them into small, approximately 2 cm balls. Roll these in sifted powdered sugar, place them on a baking sheet, and bake at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 10-12 minutes. Ensure the balls are just cooked through. Dust with powdered sugar again while still warm. The balls taste even better after being stored in a sealed container for several days.
