Honey croissants

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g honey
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g margarine
  • 250 g flour
  • 3 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 pack of vanilla flavor
  • 50 g rock candy (Grümmel)
  • 125 g powdered sugar
  • 1 pack of vanilla flavor
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Melt the honey, sugar, and margarine while stirring. Leave to cool in a bowl, then add the flour, baking powder, egg, and vanilla extract and knead into a shortcrust pastry. Finally, knead in the crumbs briefly, then shape the dough into two rolls, wrap them in foil, and refrigerate for about an hour. Cut small slices from the rolls and roll each slice into a croissant. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 160 degrees Celsius (convection oven) for about 8 to 10 minutes. Mix the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and water together to make a thick glaze and spread it over the cooled croissants. If you like, you can also sprinkle crumbs on top. We found the sweetness enough without any crumbs, although they look very nice with crumbs on top.
