Soft chocolate rolls

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 550 g flour
  • 80 g butter, soft
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some lemon zest
  • 250 ml milk, warm
  • 1 cube of fresh yeast
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • possibly chocolate, diced, or raisins

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

First, mix the butter, sugar, salt, egg, and lemon zest with the dough hook of a hand mixer. Gently warm the milk and dissolve the yeast in it (the milk shouldn’t get too hot). Then mix it alternately with the flour into the other ingredients. Finally, add chocolate chips or raisins, if desired. Then place small balls of dough (about 50 g each) onto a prepared baking sheet and let rise for about 45 minutes. Finally, brush with egg yolk. Bake for about 15 minutes in a preheated oven at 175°C (convection oven).
