Grandpa – Memorial Cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cake base (Vienna base, 3 layers)
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 3 packs of pudding powder, vanilla, for cooking
  • 1 packet of powdered sugar
  • 325 g butter
  • Jam (strawberry jam)
  • chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Buttercream cake

Bring the milk to a boil. Take a little of it beforehand and mix it with the pudding powder (3 sachets). When the milk is boiling, add the mixed powder and bring to a boil (it will be very thick). Let the pudding cool. Mix the butter and icing sugar together and then stir in the cold pudding. Place a Viennese cake layer on the cake plate and spread with jam. Then spread some of the buttercream over it. Place the second layer on top and also spread with the cream. Now place the last layer on top and also spread with cream. Spread a thin layer of cream around the edge of the cake and decorate the cake with sprinkles topping. It’s super rich, but also super delicious. My grandpa always made this cake for celebrations, but sadly he passed away. That’s how the recipe got its name.
