Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 7 egg yolks
  • 40 g sugar
  • vanilla sugar, grated lemon peel
  • 7 protein
  • 100 g sugar
  • 70 g flour
  • 70 g cornstarch (cornflour)
  • 70 g butter
  • Oil and flour for the baking tray

for Dobostorte

Whisk the egg yolks with 40g of caster sugar, vanilla sugar, and grated lemon zest until frothy. Whisk the egg whites with 100g of caster sugar until fluffy and fold into the yolk mixture. Sift the flour with the cornstarch, mix into the mixture, and stir in the hot butter. Spread the mixture onto a lightly greased and floured baking sheet (round for cakes, rectangular for slices) to a thickness of about 5mm. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 8 minutes. After baking, immediately remove from the baking sheet with a long, smooth knife. For cakes, cut out shapes using a cake ring, or cut into strips for slices.
