Strudel dough

Spread the love

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Water as needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sift the flour onto a work surface and mix with salt, making a well in the center. Add the oil, vinegar, and water to the well and knead into a very pliable, smooth dough, adding a little more water if needed. Brush the dough with 1 teaspoon of oil and wrap it in cling film. Let it rest at room temperature for 20 minutes. Then, roll it out on a large cloth as thinly as possible and continue to stretch it out with your hands until the dough is so translucent that you can “read a newspaper through it.” Immediately brush it with a little melted butter, fill it as desired, and roll it up using the cloth.
