Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 slice(s) of toast bread (e.g. butter toast)
  • 8 slice(s) ham, cooked
  • 8 slice(s) cheese, butter cheese
  • 2 m.-large tomato(s)
  • Margarine (low-fat)
  • Olives, green with paprika paste or without stones
  • Black olives without stones
  • capers
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • possibly paprika powder
  • possibly oregano

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

quick, easy, delicious

Arrange the eight slices of toast on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the top of each slice thinly with low-fat margarine (or butter or regular margarine, if you prefer). Cut the slices of cooked ham to about the size of toast and top the bread with them. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into eight slices. Place them on each slice of toast, season with salt and pepper. Halve the green and black olives and distribute them along with the capers on the toast. Finally, arrange the cheese slices on the toast and bake in the oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes (until the cheese melts and is golden brown). Season with paprika or oregano, if desired.
