Briefly boil the pear juice with the cinnamon sticks and the scraped-out vanilla pod and let it steep for about 2 hours. If you’re using vanilla from the mill, simply grind it in by eye. After the steeping time, remove the cinnamon sticks and vanilla pod. Prepare the gel-fix according to the package instructions and mix it with the juice. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer for 4 minutes. Then pour into jars, seal, turn upside down, and let cool.
