Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 225 g wholemeal wheat flour
  • 225 g wholemeal rye flour
  • 1 point yeast (dry yeast)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 100 g walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 400 ml kefir (or buttermilk)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Mix all the dry ingredients, add the lukewarm liquid, and let the dough rise for half an hour. Then pour it into a greased loaf pan and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 20 minutes at 225°C and 20 minutes at 200°C. (When baking bread, I always leave the drip tray at the bottom of the oven and pour a cup of hot water into it immediately after placing the loaf pan in the oven. This produces a nicer crust.)
