Oreshki: Russian Witch Hazel
The perfect oreshki: russian witch hazel recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the nutshells:
- 2 Pc. Eggs
- 120 g Sugar
- 400 g Flour
- 250 g Butter
- 1 tsp Baking powder
For the filling:
- 400 g Caramelized condensed milk
- Separate the eggs.
- Beat the egg yolks with 100 grams of sugar and set aside.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff and also set aside.
- Put the flour in a mixing bowl and knead in the butter in cubes, the baking powder and the remaining sugar with your hands until a slightly falling but even dough is formed.
- Fold in the egg whites and egg yolk and sugar mixture.
- Press the dough evenly thick into walnut molds.
- Bake at 180 degrees for 15 minutes, then remove the bowls from the molds.
- Pour the caramelized condensed milk into a walnut bowl with a clear supernatant and press on a second until all of it is used up.
