Simple Sponge Cake Like Grandma’s

The perfect simple sponge cake like grandma’s recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 150 g Soft butter
  • 2 Pc. Eggs
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 20 g Vanilla sugar
  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 tbsp Lemon peel
  • 20 g Baking powder
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Beat the butter in a mixing bowl until frothy. Separate the eggs.
  2. Add the egg yolks to the butter and mix with the sugar, milk, vanilla sugar, flour, lemon zest and baking powder to form a batter.
  3. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter.
  4. Spread the dough evenly in a bundt pan and bake at 180 degrees for an hour.
  5. Turn the cake out of the mold, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with caramel sauce, for example.
