Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 40 g butter
  • 1 small onion(s), diced
  • 50 ml white wine, semi-dry
  • 500 ml water
  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot (Bautz’ner mustard)
  • 2 tbsp mustard, sweet
  • 1 tbsp vegetable broth or vegetable paste
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Sauté the butter with the diced onion until translucent and deglaze with white wine. Then add the flour and stock and milk, bring to a boil, and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in both mustards, season to taste, and add more salt if desired. Serve with a slice of toasted bread.
