Yeast cookies from Settsches` grandma

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • ½ cube of yeast
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 tbsp, heaped sugar
  • Powdered sugar or sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Crumble the yeast into a small bowl, mix with a dash of milk, a little flour, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of sugar. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1/2 hour. Heat the remaining milk and stir it into a mixing bowl with the prepared yeast, eggs, the remaining sugar, and salt. Then slowly stir in the flour, cover, and let the dough rise in a warm place for another 1/2 hour. Give the dough another quick stir and bake the cookies in a pan. Approximately 2 heaped tablespoons of dough per cookie. Now simply sprinkle with sugar or powdered sugar and enjoy.
