Red wine cake – the original

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 250 g sugar
  • 250 g margarine, soft
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • ⅛ liter wine, red, dry
  • 200 g chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Mix the ingredients one by one with a hand mixer until a dough forms. Pour the batter into a greased and breadcrumb-dusted ring tin. Bake in a preheated oven (170°C fan-assisted) on the middle rack for about 50 minutes (test with a skewer for crispness). Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar or cover with chocolate icing. It will keep fresh for a long time and can be easily frozen in portions.
