Elderberry – Apple – Jelly

Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 600 ml juice (elderberry juice)
  • 400 ml apple juice
  • 1 pack of gelling sugar, 2:1
  • 4 tbsp Calvados

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with or without Calvados

Combine the juices—I always use bottled elderberry juice—in a saucepan and bring to a boil with the gelling sugar for 3-4 minutes. This also works great with Gelfix if you have regular sugar instead of gelling sugar. (Follow the package instructions!) Add the Calvados just before filling. I’ve also tried this with Amaretto, which is also great. You can simply omit it if you’re having children with you or don’t want to use alcohol. Immediately pour into glasses, turn out the juice, and let it stand for 10 minutes. It’s delicious and very easy to make.
