Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • ½ cube of yeast
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • some lemon zest or lemon flavor
  • 1 jar applesauce
  • 1 egg yolk
  • n. B. Sugar granules

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Cake

Warm the milk to lukewarm and melt the butter in it. Crumble in the yeast, add the sugar, stir, and cover. Let it rise until it has visibly increased in size. Add the flour, salt, and lemon zest, if desired; knead everything well and let it rise again. Take about a third for the lattice and pour the rest into a springform pan. Spread the applesauce on top. For the lattice, roll out the rest of the dough, cut thin strips with a pastry wheel, and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the applesauce. Then carefully brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with sugar. Then bake in the oven until the dough is deliciously browned. Preheat oven to 160°C for about 30 minutes.
