simply brilliant and above all healthy

Peel the onion and dice it. Trim the carrot and grate it very finely. Sauté the green spelt groats in a pan over low heat until fragrant (do not allow them to brown!), then deglaze with stock. Add the chopped onion and carrot and let the mixture swell on the turned off stovetop for 15 minutes. Combine the meat, egg, spices, and breadcrumbs in a bowl. Add the green spelt mixture and knead everything with your hands to form a patty dough. Form about 8 hamburgers from this dough and flatten them. Heat oil in a pan and fry the patties over medium heat for 4 minutes on each side. Wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Wash the tomatoes and cucumber and slice each one. Halve the buns and build a hamburger using the meatball, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, a little ketchup and/or mayonnaise.
