Gratinated cheese spaetzle

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g red onion(s)
  • 750 g leek
  • 500 g spaetzle, fresh, possibly from the refrigerated section
  • 40 g butter
  • 250 g cheese (Gouda)
  • ½ bunch marjoram
  • salt and pepper
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel and slice the onions. Clean the leek and slice into rings. Lightly fry the spaetzle in the butter for about 2 minutes, season, and remove from the pan. Add the onions and sauté until translucent. Add the leek, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grate the cheese and grease a baking dish. Mix the spaetzle with 200g of cheese and the vegetables and add everything to the baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with marjoram leaves before serving.
