Spelt cheese patties

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g spelt, coarsely ground
  • 400 ml water
  • e.g. soy sauce
  • 200 g grated cheese, e.g. Gouda
  • 4 onions, diced
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

vegetarian, wholesome

Heat the water with soy sauce, pour in the bran, stir, and bring to a boil briefly. Set the pot aside. Lightly brown the onions in the fat and knead them into the spelt porridge along with the cheese. Season with salt to taste. Form patties from the mixture and fry them in the fat on each side. I always form patties the size of potato chips, which easily makes about 15 patties. They also taste great cold the next day. Serve with tzatziki, perhaps with vegetables and/or salad.
