Spinach Leaves with Egg

The perfect spinach leaves with egg recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 400 g Fresh spinach leaves
  • 30 g Cooking butter
  • 4 Pc. Eggs
  • 1 Pc. Fresh tomato
  • 1 Pc. Salt pepper
  • 1 Pc. Herbs of Provence
  • 1 Pc. Fresh thyme
  1. General: The procurement of food has never been as easy for humans, Homo Sapiens, as it is today. Nevertheless, I know the feeling when you come home stressed out from work, annoyed by the traffic jam and, to make matters worse, you still have to think about what you want to eat. Cook? No! Not that yet! That’s what I thought about 20 years ago and preferred to wait nervously for the pizza delivery guy, than to think that only archaic fears stand in the way. Our subconscious reports: “has to hunt mammoths:” No, we don’t have to anymore today, and someone else does the potato harvest for us (unless we are self-sufficient, but they only call the pizza courier in an emergency). You can even find washed spinach on the supermarket shelves! You don’t even have to worry about the water supply anymore. Bet: the following dish is prepared in half the time, like a pizza from the courier company. But this is by no means on the way to us. Well, kidding aside: it takes a bit of effort to be at the stove after a hard day. Are there surprisingly hungry guests? The following recipe is ideal for this. It is prepared in no time. You can still claim that you caught the spinach all by yourself, without any help, and that you waited patiently next to the chicken until the egg came to give it a little more tension :-D.
  2. Preparation 2: Wash the spinach thoroughly and place it in a high-walled saucepan in which the butter has been melted beforehand. The spinach collapses and after a few minutes it is ready to cook. Add a little salt. Beat the eggs and place in a Teflon pan. The egg white should set so far that it is still “slimy”, i.e. shiny and wobbly, like a pudding, but no longer translucent, glassy. Hitting this perfect point is a matter of getting used to. Each time the egg becomes stuck, its taste changes. Finding the ideal taste state is absolutely individual, which is why I do not specify a cooking time here. This also applies to the spinach. Cut the tomato into 8 parts and decorate the dish with them. Finished! Caught spinach, killed egg!
