Children’s favorite food – super tasty, quick and cheap

This recipe was my brother and I’s favorite when we were kids. Today, our kids love it, and we still do, too. It’s quick and easy, and totally inexpensive! Dice the onion and sauté it in a pot or pan. Melt the butter and gradually stir in the flour with a whisk to avoid any lumps. Add the milk a little at a time until the roux reaches a thick consistency. Stir in the passata, press in the garlic, and add the diced sausage. Season to taste with salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and a pinch of sugar. Don’t skimp on the salt! Cook any pasta you like; I recommend spirelli or macaroni. Grandma always used to make spaghetti with forks. Delicious with grated cheese or Parmesan cheese on top!
