Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 jar of Bismarck herring(s) of 500 g each
  • 1 shallot(s)
  • 1 spring onion(s)
  • 4 radishes
  • 6 small pickles
  • 300 g natural yogurt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ tbsp dill
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of cayenne pepper and/or paprika (hot)
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 15 minutes

Combine the natural yogurt and sour cream in a bowl. Thinly slice the shallot or onion. Add the spring onion (whole), radishes, and pickles. Add to the bowl and season with dill, salt, and pepper. Cut the Bismarck herring into small, bite-sized pieces and mix in. Finally, season with one or two pinches of cayenne pepper and/or paprika. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and let the salad sit for a few hours. You can also slice one or two boiled eggs into the salad before eating. Serve with boiled potatoes.
