Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 bunch of soup vegetables
- 1 large onion(s)
- 4 allspice berries
- 2 cubes of bouillon
- some salt and pepper
- 750 g potatoes
- ¼ liter sour cream
- 1 tsp mustard
- some sugar
- 1 tbsp butter or bacon cubes
- e.g. parsley
- e.g. sausages or meat sausage

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
Grandma’s recipe
Cook the soup vegetables with the whole onion, spices, bouillon cubes, and salt until well cooked. Add the sliced potatoes. Once tender, mash the potatoes and pass them through a sieve (you don’t need to pass them through if you prefer chunky potatoes). Stir in 1/4 cup sour cream, a teaspoon of mustard, a pinch of sugar, salt, pepper, and butter (or fried bacon bits). Finally, add chopped green parsley. Add lightly fried sausages or sliced ”Pommersche” (meat sausage) to the thick soup.
