- 5 potatoes, small to medium, waxy
- Salt
- Black pepper, freshly ground
- e.g. cheese, cheddar
- 50 g butter

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Clean the potatoes thoroughly, brush with oil, and bake in the center of the oven for about 45 minutes, until tender. Halve the potatoes crosswise, scoop out the flesh, and use the potato flesh for another purpose. Sprinkle the halves with salt and pepper, place them side by side on a baking sheet, sprinkle grated cheese inside the potatoes, and add a few knobs of butter. Bake in the oven until the cheese has melted. A great snack for any meal, e.g., at a party, or as a different side dish for steak.
