Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

simple, also suitable for beginners, from a 28 cm springform pan

For the base, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl. Cut the cold butter into small pieces and add it. Add one egg and mix everything into a crumbly dough. If necessary, add cold water until the dough holds together well. Pour the dough into a 28 cm springform pan and press it down as flat as possible. Don’t make the edges too high. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Melt the butter or margarine. Add the quark with the sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs. Mix everything well. Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan). Pour the quark filling into the dough and smooth it out. Bake the cake in the preheated oven on the second highest rack for about 60 minutes, until the filling is set and the cake is golden brown. After 45 minutes, cover the cake with a piece of aluminum foil if necessary to prevent the surface from getting too dark. Do the skewer test after 60 minutes. If any filling sticks to the skewer, leave the cake in the oven for about another 15 minutes. Allow the baked cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
