Turkey goulash Szeged style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 large onions, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter
  • 700 g turkey meat, diced
  • 1 tbsp, leveled paprika powder
  • some caraway seeds as desired
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • little water
  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • some salt
  • some chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Sauté coarsely chopped onions in clarified butter until translucent, add the diced turkey and sear vigorously. Then stir in the paprika, caraway, garlic, and tomato paste. Deglaze with a little water. Add the sauerkraut and simmer for about 15-20 minutes. Mix the flour with the sour cream and pour over the goulash. Season with salt and chili powder to taste. Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes as a side dish.
