Spinach tart with bacon cubes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 roll(s) of dough (cake dough), approx. 32 cm
  • 500 g creamed spinach, frozen, chopped
  • 50 g bacon, diced or cut into small strips
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, crushed
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Sauté the onions in a little oil in a deep frying pan until translucent. Add the bacon and fry until slightly crispy. Add the garlic and fry briefly. Add the frozen creamed spinach. Reduce the heat and continue to sauté until the spinach is thawed. Whisk the eggs with the milk and season with salt and pepper. Place the cake batter and the baking paper in a baking tray. Prick the pastry base several times with a fork. Pour the topping into the deep frying pan with the spinach and mix in. Spread the contents of the pan over the pastry base. Bake in the preheated oven at 220°C for approx. 35 minutes. Remove from the pan, let cool slightly on a wire rack, remove from the tray and serve.
