Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 tomatoes
  • 2 bell peppers, red
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 small chili peppers
  • 2 tbsp herb vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

fruity tomato-pepper dip with chili

Finely chop the onions and fry in a little oil in a pan until translucent. Dice the tomatoes, bell peppers, and chilies as finely as possible and add them to the pan with the translucent onions. Let everything simmer for a while. Season to taste with about 2 tablespoons of herb vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and pepper. Then blend everything thoroughly with a hand blender. Finally, let it cool. Tip: Add the finely chopped chilies a little at a time to adjust the spiciness. Serve with a variety of tacos—chili tacos increase the heat, while salted ones reduce the dip slightly.
