Baked asparagus rolls

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg asparagus
  • n. B. salt water
  • 5 slices of cooked ham
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 100 g cooked ham, diced
  • some sauce thickener, lighter
  • e.g. vegetable broth, instant
  • 250 ml milk
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 200 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • some fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash and peel the asparagus, cook in salted water for 15 minutes, and drain. Reserve 250 ml of the cooking water and stir in bouillon powder to taste. Peel and dice the onion, and sauté it with the diced ham in margarine. Wrap 4-5 asparagus spears in each ham slice and place in a baking dish. Pour in the milk and asparagus broth and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Thicken slightly with a light sauce thickener. Pour the sauce over the asparagus rolls and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 200°C until golden brown. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving. Serve with boiled potatoes.
